Your colouring is fantastic and unlike any other artist I've seen, do you have a special method? And do you just follow your instinct with what colours to use or is there a method beyond looking at reference? from lewisjlondon
I generally don’t look at much reference when colouring. I’m pretty awkward to be honestI just go with what looks good. Though after the first pass I tend to shift the colour balance of everything until I like it more. I find this helps tie the colours together and allows quick experimentation on my part.
It’s not the quickest method overall but I find more surprises and happy accidents this way. Things I would not have thought or known how to do at the start of the piece.
As an artist, what is the most frustrating thing for you to draw? from -imaginarythoughts-
Everything. I mean I struggle to draw everything and if anything comes easy to me I am suspicious of it. Though this tends to be what drives me on. Finding something frustrating in my work and conquering it. I used to hate backgrounds and environments when i started so I made myself go at it hammer and thongs. Though now it’s more human interaction, that spark between two characters that shows they’re really interacting. This is what I’m working on at the moment.
